Malaysia’s Noah Ark

malaysia.jpg

This is an “ark” built by a cult called Ajaran Sulaiman or Ajaran Bahtera Noah that promised its “followers smooth sailing into the hereafter” is now in ruins.

The Star reports:

Purportedly the Noah’s Ark of modern times, followers of the late Sulaiman Mohd Said, who once predicted that the people of Klang would perish in a terrible flood, built the boat-like structure that is now close to ruin.

Sulaiman persuaded his followers, that when the floods came, they would be the chosen ones to sail away to safety with him in the “vessel.”

According to the article, the Selangor government will demolish the structure soon. The cult, which was outlawed by the Malaysian government, was led by a leader who not only claimed to be able to save them with the ark but also claims to be Jesus.

Also:

The mammoth structure – which stretches like a row of terrace houses and includes a surau, two towering masts, portholes and Quranic verses on the wall – is located in a remote village in Meru Barat.

A check by The Star showed the structure had long been abandoned, but the locked entrance was guarded by two hissing geese.

My question is, how did they expect the conctrete structure to sail?

We had discussions among friends whether you can build a ship out of concrete. Still inconclusive, but a more people are inclining to NO.

Another myth for the mythbusters.

But looking at the picture, the walls have too many holes to begin with. That itself makes this whole thing not seaworthy.
